The winning hand

My modem died after 5 months. Good thing it is still within warranty so replacement is free. Bad thing is it broke down. What the hell man..... in the middle of my Japan research.

Anyway after the ensuing drama, I finally got my replacement and back on track. Now I got more throwbacks to blog. Since the last blog is about CNY, let's continue...

I got a new cushion for CNY. Spot the new cushion.

Managed to have 3 rounds of lo sang..very pleased. However the last lo sang which is also the most expensive one suck big time. Goes to say expensive food is not necessarily good food.

Uncle and grand aunt chidded me for not taking leave on first day of CNY. They said bad juju and never to work on CNY. I wonder if there is any truth in it because they also grumbled that I had to leave early on reunion night and can't played cards till late hahaha... have to work tomorrow ma...

But I made up on the first day of CNY by rocking up for dinner to 'pai nian' with my gamble purse. Was pleasantly surprised too that I was on a winning streak. Must be the power of my froggy purse. Granted, they were very small bets 5 cents per point. I had so many 5 cents in the end I just gave it all back to them. Too much for the frog which already looks round like me.

No joke, look at this winning hand. It is the 'tin wu', the sky hand. Immediate game even before we start playing. Grand aunt was particularly a sore loser but what can I do. This kinda game is really pure luck. No brainier no science no maths.

I told aunt about the meaning of the froggy themed purse. Frog in Japanese is kaeru which means come home. Very good omen and popular purse motif in Japan. I promise aunt I will buy one for her when I am in Japan. My dear sister, you might want to get one too.

Make good souvenirs and not too expensive (read: Daiso)
